When our designated wholesale brokers look for a market for that small, medium or large General Liability or Liquor Liability account, our Primary Casualty staff, with over 55 years of combined casualty underwriting experience, stands ready to assist them.

Our approach to risk-taking is based on the merits and risk characteristics of each account our brokers bring to us. We use I.S.O. forms as a solid foundation, adding customized endorsements, as needed, to meet the demands of the market presented. We maintain a flexible underwriting posture, composite rate most accounts, and offer excellent service to help our brokers meet the needs of their customers and our potential insureds.

We are able to consider many different classes of business. Our list of current policies includes a wide-variety of risks. We prefer light to moderate liability exposures, but can consider heavier exposures in the more desirable classes. We have enjoyed our greatest successes writing business in the food service and hospitality industry, light to moderate hazard products and processes, wholesale distributors and importers, lessor’s risk properties, taverns, products and services that support other businesses and selected contracting operations.

Golden Bear is admitted in California, but also writes through qualified surplus lines brokers on a non-admitted basis in those additional states listed in the States of Operation tab below. In those states where we offer Liquor Liability coverage, we can combine the General Liability and Liquor Liability coverages into a mini-package policy.
